If you're attending a summer music festival this year then it's very important to pack a few essential items you'll need whilst you're there. As most festivals take place during the summer months you should assume that it's going to be hot, although this is rarely the case! So taking some sunscreen and sunglasses is must! Although you'll probably find that due to the British weather you'll end up needing a raincoat rather than sunglasses.
Even if the weather is poor during your festival it is important that you remain properly hydrated. A lot of people who drink to much alcohol and don't have enough water intake during the course of the festival could find themselves passed out in a corner somewhere, so it's vital to keep properly hydrated. Bring your own water if you can as you'll almost certainly be ripped off for bottled water in the festival ground.
Ear plugs are another very important item you should take with you. Loud music can damage your hearing, especially if you spend three days down at the front of the stage near the backline. In order to protect your hearing over the weekend it is well worth investing in some good quality ear plugs. If you're camping at a festival then you'll find that earplugs are useful at night too! Festival camping sites are often really noisy, so having a set of ear plugs with you will help you to get some much needed sleep.
