Security

Security at concert venues is very important. Audience members can often get over excited when they're watching their favourite musicians, and when this is combined with excessive consumption of alcohol then problems can occur. Most large venues will employ some security personnel to ensure things don't get out of hand during the show. Sometimes they're employed directly by the venue, but other times a third party company is used.

Some venues will have different policies to others, and activities such as stage diving, crowd surfing and mosh pits will be prohibited to protect members from the audience. However, some venues will allow these practices to go on and will simply state in their terms and conditions that they are not liable should anybody injure themselves whilst doing this!

In the past some concerts have gotten totally out of hand and ended up in a riot. Most large venues will be designed in such a way that if a riot should break out then it can be controlled. Security shutters will be in place to restrict access to certain areas of the venue, and certain entrances can be sealed off with security shutters too in order to prevent more people gaining entry. Also, specially trained staff will be on hand to deal with any difficult situations that could arise. Also, if trouble is expect then there's good chance that there will be a significant police presence too!
