Over the past few months, SETA has been in the process of planning regional-based competitions to deliver across the South East initially. This is based upon protected weekends from the England Touch Calendar for specific regional events. However, due to COVID measures developing and changing, our plans are always evolving and adapting. The current intention is to host a three round series, offering Men's Open, Women's Open and Junior divisions. The venue and dates are to be confirmed, but we will be organising the competition days in alignment with the most up to date COVID safety and compliance advice to ensure the safety of all staff and participants.   • Parental Consent | SETA

    HEALTH DECLARATION It is necessary to obtain parental consent for all players age under 18 to take part in any England Touch Association (ETA) activity. If you wish for your son/daughter to participate, then please read the following information, complete the form, sign to provide Parental Consent and return to the Team Manager of your team. Copies of this form will be retained by the High Performance Team and the Head of Medical Services. SAFEGUARDING AND WELFARE OF JUNIOR PLAYERS – COACHING AND MEDICAL The ETA is currently working towards ensuring all coaches are fully qualified and receive relevant training for continuous professional development. Where coaches do not have a full qualification, they will be supervised by a qualified member of the coaching staff, e.g. the High Performance Director, Technical Director or DBS checked ETA coach with Advanced Coaching (Level 2) qualification. All coaches will be checked and cleared through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). All medical personnel involved with the ETA are fully qualified and registered Chartered Physiotherapists. They have been checked and cleared through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). ASSESSMENT OF JUNIOR PLAYERS FOR COMPETITION When assessing whether a junior player (under the age of 18) is capable of playing touch within any divisional Touch competition and subsequent games, those responsible for making the decision will be the relevant Head Coach and the Medical Team and will take into account the following: The ultimate consideration must be for the welfare and safety of the player and those with whom the player will be playing. There has and will be clear communication with all those involved in and affected by the decision. The following aspects must been taken into consideration when making the decision: The physical development and any injuries/illnesses of the individual and the player’s playing colleagues The skill level and experience of the individual The individual’s playing position in the team The competitive standard of the particular match and playing conditions DATA PROTECTION AND CONFIDENTIALITY Any information provided on this form will be will be kept secure and confidential in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. The ETA will use the information provided on this form for Coaching and Medical administration and for the purpose of contacting players and parents/guardians regarding other affiliated Touch activity. In the event of a medical issue or safeguarding concern arising, the ETA may disclose certain information to relevant personnel as required. For the latest government advice CLICK HERE CONTACT US THE NATIONALS Upcoming events OVERVIEW The Nationals is England's regional competition and the showpiece event of the year. It is the main stepping stone to international representation and a player cannot be considered for selection for the England High Performance Squads without having played for their region at this event. Held annually in a central England location, this event sees representative teams from England's six regions compete to be crowned champions across eleven divisions spanning Juniors, Opens and Seniors. Televised by the BBC and live-streamed through England Touch's Youtube channel this event draws the biggest annual crowd and player participation. For the latest government advice CLICK HERE CONTACT US ROUTE TO ENGLAND REPRESENTATION Upcoming events The SETA franchises are elite competitive arms of the South East playing community, comprised of team members from the clubs and leagues across the region. Any player within the region with eligibility to represent England Touch can access selection through our Route to England representation pathway. 1. INITIAL TRIAL DEVELOPMENT DAYS OR SETA CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS Get noticed by our coaches and team members at one of our feeder pathways, either through the SETA development days or the club championships. You'll be invited to train with the SETA training squad. 2. SETA SQUAD SELECTION TRAINING SQUADS Train with our regional squad, giving you the platform to express your individual skill, game knowledge, teamwork approach and coachability. 4. NATIONALS REPRESENTATION MATCH SERIES COMPETITION Wear the badge of the South East at The Nationals competition, in broadcasted head to head matches against the other England regions. This series is the access point to be noticed by England selectors. 3. FRANCHISE SELECTION FACE-OFF SERIES Play in our Face-Off franchise series competing for selection to become a member of our representative team, joining a family of players with a proud competitive history. 5. ENGLAND SQUAD SELECTION TRAINING SQUADS Train with the England Touch's wider training squad, giving you the platform to express your individual skill, game knowledge, teamwork approach and coachability at a higher competitive and representational level. 6. ENGLAND SELECTION COMPETITION SELECTION Become an England representative as part of one of the Open or Age grade teams. Join the upcoming campaign for international competition. You'll receive regular coaching, team and wellbeing support at the number of camps across England.     The SETA Youth Academy is a 3-day Touch Football training camp for athletes aged 12 -17 years looking to pathway into the England selection. For the latest government advice CLICK HERE CONTACT US OVERVIEW The SETA Youth Academy is a 3-day touch training camp for athletes aged 12 -17 years looking for a pathway into the England selection. ABOUT THE ACADEMY Participants who attend the academy are selected from the camp to represent SETA at Nationals and possibly fast-tracked into the England set up prior to the Youth Touch World Cup. The representative teams in the SE are Sharks and Taipans. The regional coaches come together to coach the teams and are supported and assisted by High-Performance Touch coaches & players. WHY ATTEND? This event plays an important role in developing young aspiring players and provides pathway opportunities. The camp includes agility and skill components, fitness testing, body management, injury prevention and an elite induction with guest speakers. WANT TO KNOW MORE? INSURANCE In2Touch has Public Liability Insurance to cover their running of the event. Player insurance is not covered, players should arrange their own insurance whichever way is best for them. FOOD We recommend players bring their own food and beverages. Refreshments will be available for purchase at the club house throughout the day. PHOTOGRAPHY There will be photos of the event taken, please make all players aware.
