OVERVIEW
England Touch and South East Touch Association have developed a suite of resources to cater for the varying skill levels of students. The resources are not to an age group, but rather to the student’s level of development.
1. PLAY FOR LIFE
INTRODUCTION
Uses modified rules to meet the developmental needs of young Touch players. The program consists of seven sequential, game-based lessons suitable for primary school students of all abilities.
2. FOUNDATION
DEVELOPMENT
Has been structured to work in school settings and follows on from the ‘Play for Life’ resource. This resource is designed to assist those with a minimal understanding of Touch, to deliver and teach the foundation skills of the game.
4. TALENT ID
PATHWAY
Has been structured to operate over 3-4 sessions in schools for players recommended by their current teachers that show good ability and could possibly make England selection. Once identified, these players will be invited to camps to be fast-tracked into the England set up.
3. SKILL SCHOOL
PROGRESSION
Has been structured to work in a school setting and follows on from the Foundation Coaching Resource. This resource is designed to assist those with an extension on the skills taught at the foundation level, to develop and deliver a catered physical education program for students.
