At the time there were a lot of Antipodeans in the area but they moved away around 2009 so someone needed to take things forward. Chris played rugby for TWRFC and is from Tunbridge Wells so naturally wanted to join Tunbridge Wells and Tonbridge together to maximise the club player numbers. TWRFC achieved O2 Touch affiliation in 2014.
