CHIPSTEAD FLAMES ABOUT THE CLUB SURREY A womens' touch team playing together since 2021 at Chipstead RFC, a rugby club with teams from U5s - seniors. The Chipstead Flames started when some mums were watching their children play in the minis one Sunday morning and thought ’This looks like fun, I’d love to play Rugby but don’t want to get hurt’. The rest is history. We train and play every Wednesday all year round at 6:30 with an emphasis on having fun and not taking anything too seriously, the team is made up of absolute beginners and more experienced players aged 16+ to 60+, everyone is welcome. We recently started the Sparks for girls from U9 (year 4) upwards. WOLVES TOUCH ABOUT THE CLUB GREATER LONDON We are London's only structured touch club for kids up to the age of 18. We offer amazing opportunities for our players to try out for regional and England selection. We currently have over 10 players that have played for the SE region and 6 that have represented England at the 2019 Junior Touch Championship in Paris and we also top up adult teams if they are short of players in the ETS, NTS and DTS. ​ We also deliver introductory touch and block touch sessions in schools and sports clubs. We currently teach in Burntwood School, Streatham and Clapham and Graveney. ETA PUBLISH JTC SELECTIONS This year the Junior Touch Championships will be returning to France at the Sports Center De Vichy on the 12th of August this year. The last JTC was played in 2019 in which England took home the Gold in all four categories; Mixed 18s, Mixed 15s and Boys and Girls 18s. Can they do it all over again? Nineteen clubs are represented amongst all four teams and out of 75 players and non traveling reserves 17 represent South East Touch in teams such as Galaxy, CSSC, Canterbury, Wolves, and Old Reigatians. A massive congratulations to the athletes and coaches that have been selected to represent their country for the first time and to the athletes who are returning to the Junior Euros and are putting in the work to bring home the trophy. ​ Find the list team selections published here . MWNTS KICKED OFF THIS WEEKEND The Touch season kicked off this Saturday as Oxford Rugby Club hosts the first round of the Mens and Womens NTS! The first round went to London Scorps in the Men’s category whilst NQ continued their fine form from last year putting down a dominant display in the Women’s category; runners up Eagles and Scorps fought a hard game with Eagles just edging it - all to play for in R2 Sunday we saw a fully booked DNTS start up at the same venue with incumbent team PFT taking the glory in a sodden Oxford. Revolution came up on top beating some strong opponents on the way to the top.
